Study of the White House
I came across these image's, while I was clean up the studio the other day, that I had taken of this cool white house.... I can't remember where it was taken, but maybe it will come to me someday. I scanned them into photoshop and played a bit. I cropped them to a square format and sized them to 4x4 inches. I love the sculptured mushroom trees, the fence and gates a gingerbreadie kind of house.
I wonder who the gardener is?

Playing with Food
Playing with some food images last night. We had cupcakes at Tapanga's birthday celebration.
A little Photoshop tweaking for a fun, bright image. I've been working on isolating objects on a white background. Made a batch of ginger cookies and photographed them on white then gave them a little artsy flair.
On our last visit to Bandon, on the Oregon coast, we stopped at a pie shop in Bandon's old town. Had berry pie ala mode... Oh so good.
Added a painterly effect to the pie and I think it turned out yummy. I'm also working on a series of food images from yummy desserts to fresh fruit and veggies from the garden. Looking at all this food is making me hungry!

We have finished our building project, so no more trips to the home improvement store. I took a look around the house and here are some more backgrounds, textures and patterns.

Metal Pitcher
Fly Swatter
Tupperware lid
Bubble mailer
Sweatshirt
Plastic pitcher
Cranberries on black tray
Berry Boxes
Upside down candy tray

Okay that's all I could find for now....I'll see what I can find tomorrow!

More Backgrounds, Textures and Patterns
It seems that my second home is at the home improvement stores .... where I'm sure these people by now think I'm a little crazy photographing door mats, stone tiles and orange cones. But the funny thing is the more you look around, patterns and textures are every where to photograph. So here are some I took the other day.
Floor mat
Door Mat
Wood Dowels
Metal Color Samples
Square Wood Ends
White Shutter
Orange Cones
Stone Tiles
And the search continues ... more backgrounds, patterns and textures to find.

Backgrounds, Patterns and Textures
Every month I'm participating in a different photo study and this month I'm working on Backgrounds, Patterns and Textures. I'll choose one to submit for possible review. My husband and I visited Jerry's a home improvement store and I took a few images that I will share here.

Working on New Years Resolutions
One of my resolutions this year was to learn Photoshop. So I have been practicing framing my photo's and adding the copyright symbol. On my daily walks I try to find interesting things to shoot and work on some of my self-assignments. Now I will have a lot more to post in the coming months. Here are a few images I've been working on. Let me know what you think!

Sweeney Pond
I have been taking daily walks with my camera and photographing what I find of interest. I live on a gravel road, in the back country of Oregon, where it rains a lot. A couple of days ago we were bathed in sunshine and I was out walking near Sweeney Pond and liked the reflection of the trees on the water.

Winter Altered Art
I love my little yellow apple tree. I cropped this to a square format and added some painterly layers.
I wanted the yellow apples to pop.
This was a quick grab shot I took last winter. I love the red barn against the white snow. I added a painterly layer and enhanced the red of the barn.
I cropped the red barn to a square format. I think I like it!
