2012 Calendar

In the month of October I had to tasks I wanted to finish. First, the Color Orange Collection of Images and second a 2012 Photo Calendar.  I'm quite pleased how my first calendar turned out.

 

                                                                                                         The calendar is 4x6 for each month, great for desk top, put on refrigerator and when the month is over you have a 4x4 image to frame.

My new monthly challenge  ..... October Orange.  I spent the month looking for the color Orange.  Here is a collection of all my finds.

Images in Un-likly Places

Made a visit to our local home improvement store and found a couple of images to play with. This image is one of my favorite subjects and so yummy too.  A picture of a picture. Who know you could have so much fun waiting for hubby to shop.

As I try to keep track of  hubby and not get to lost I  grab  another  shot as we pass the carpet department.

Next I chose a small section to isolate and enlarge, added a filter to give the image a bit  of a different  look.

Study of the White House

I came across these image's, while I was clean up the studio the other day, that I had taken of this cool white house.... I can't remember where it was taken, but maybe it will come to me someday. I scanned them into photoshop and played a bit. I cropped them to a square format and sized them to  4x4 inches.  I love the sculptured mushroom trees, the fence and gates a gingerbreadie kind of house.

 

I wonder who the gardener is?

Playing with Food

Playing with some food images last night. We had cupcakes at Tapanga's birthday celebration.

A little Photoshop tweaking for a fun, bright image.

I've been working on isolating objects on a white background. Made a batch of ginger cookies and photographed them on white then gave them a little artsy flair.

On our last visit to Bandon, on the Oregon coast, we stopped at a pie shop in Bandon's old town. Had berry pie ala mode... Oh so good.  

Added a painterly effect to the pie and I think it turned out yummy. I'm also working on a series of food images from yummy desserts to fresh fruit and veggies from the garden. Looking at all this food is making me hungry!

Around the House

We have finished our building project, so no more trips to the home improvement store.  I took a look around the house and here are some  more backgrounds, textures and patterns.

It seems that my second home is at the home improvement stores .... where I'm sure these people by now think I'm a little crazy photographing door mats, stone tiles and orange cones.  But the funny thing is the more you look around, patterns and textures are every where to photograph. Every month I'm participating  in a different photo study and this month I'm working on Backgrounds, Patterns and Textures. I'll choose one to submit for possible review. My husband and I visited Jerry's a home improvement store and I took a few images that I will share here.
